Who We Are

We are a church community who are passionate to know life in Jesus Christ and to make Him known.

We are an evangelical church situated in Goolwa, on the South Coast of South Australia. The name Goolwa means “elbow” in Ngarrindjeri, the language spoken by the first people of this region. This is where the River Murray meets the sea, where you see paddleboats and pelicans in one direction and surfers and seagulls in the other, which makes it the ideal place to relax and take time out.

We are a growing multi-generational church with celebration worship services on Friday (traditional) and Sunday mornings. We gather through the week in Life Groups and Community Groups and encourage people of all ages in their faith journey as followers of Jesus and to use their God given gifts and talents in the world. We believe that Jesus transforms lives.

As well as our Sunday service we also have Kids Life that meets weekly. On the first Sunday of the month and the second Friday of the month we celebrate communion.

We would love you to join us!

Flip through the cards below for a snapshot of what we do

Children and Youth
GUC encourages people of all ages to be in a growing relationship with Jesus.
We provide age related groups for children and youth to learn together,
build friendships and enjoy a variety of fun activities.
Community Groups
GUC enjoys connecting with people and has a range of activities where people can have fun,
learn a new skill or just get to know people.
Worship Services
We gather corporately in celebration worship services on
Friday mornings at 10:30am (traditional) and Sunday mornings at 9:30am.
Life Groups
Life Groups meet together through the week to ‘do life together’
and grow as followers of Jesus through reading the bible,
praying together and applying the teaching of Jesus.
Open Door
The Open Door serves as our church office as well as serving and supporting our community
through a wide range of community and health service providers.
Mission
When people serve others and engage in mission we see lives changed.
We partner with people in Idulkana, as well as locally and globally.

Our Pastors

Clyde Ziegeler - River of Life Pastor
Clyde felt a call to pastor the River of Life congregation after a need was identified to provide an avenue for those who find the hymns of earlier times more inspirational.

The River of Life community meets at 10.30am every Friday for a traditional worship service, followed by a time of fellowship over morning tea. Communion is incorporated in the service on the second Friday each month.
